What is iyedy

iyedy is an architecture diagram tool built on one model. You describe your system once, as elements and relationships, and every view (context, containers, deployment, sequence, BPMN and more) is drawn from that model. Rename something once and it changes everywhere.

One model for every view

Most diagram tools store pictures: each box is drawn by hand, and the same service drawn on three slides is three separate shapes that drift apart. iyedy stores a model instead. A model holds the elements of your system (people, systems, containers, databases, queues, cloud services) and the relationships between them. A view is a projection of that model for one audience and one question.

Take the Claims Platform: the Claims Service appears in the Context view, the Containers view and the Deployment view. It is one element. Rename it, or change its technology, and the three views show the change at once.

What you do with it

  • Draw. Add elements on the canvas, connect them, fill in their details in the Inspector. iyedy routes the lines and lays out the views.
  • Check. iyedy's checks are rules, not AI: they look for single points of failure, unencrypted crossings of a trust boundary, long chains of synchronous calls and more. They cost nothing and send nothing.
  • Ask the Assistant. Describe a system, ask a question about a diagram, or ask for a change. The Assistant proposes; nothing changes until you select Apply.
  • Review and share. Save named versions, ask colleagues for their opinion or their sign-off, share a diagram with the people who need it, and export views as pictures, editable files or a PDF review pack.

What iyedy is not

  • Not a whiteboard. A shape in iyedy is an element of the model, with a kind, a name and a technology. That is what lets the checks and the Assistant understand your architecture.
  • Not an AI that edits for you. The Assistant, and Claude when you connect it, only propose changes. A person applies them, and each application saves a version you can come back to.
  • Not a wiki. iyedy holds the architecture itself. Decisions, reviews and versions stay attached to the diagram they are about.

Where you use it

  • In your browser, at app.iyedy.com. Nothing to install. Editing needs a screen at least 768 px wide; on a phone you can browse, present and export.
  • From Claude. Connect iyedy to claude.ai, Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps or Claude Code, and ask about your diagrams in a Claude conversation. See Connect iyedy to Claude.
  • From your own tools, through the public API. See Your first API call.

Choose your path

What this means for you

  • On your own: start on Free with 5 active diagrams and 300 welcome credits for the Assistant. The checks never use credits. See Plans compared.
  • Invited by someone: you read and comment for free. Start with Read a diagram in 2 minutes.
  • In an organisation: your administrators decide who edits, what the Assistant may read and how you sign in.
