Glossary
The words of iyedy, one term per object, with its French name. Use it to read the app, the docs and a review in either language.
On this page
iyedy gives each object one name, the same in the app, the docs and the exports. The French column is the French interface's word. A term in bold in a definition has its own entry.
Views and diagrams
Diagram
A file: one model and the views drawn from it. You create, share, review and export a diagram. French: Schéma.
Model
The elements and relationships that every view of a diagram shares. Rename an element once and it changes in every view and every export. French: Modèle.
View
One projection of the model that answers one question for one audience: System context, Containers, Deployment, Data flow, BPMN and the others of View types. French: Vue.
Element and relationship
An element is a part of your system or a person who uses it; a relationship links two elements and says how they talk (Notation guide). French: Élément, relation.
Library
The list of your diagrams, and nothing else. French: Bibliothèque.
My diagrams
The personal workspace every account starts with. French: Mes schémas.
Home and To do
Home is the screen you land on. To do gathers what waits for you: failed checks, proposals waiting, mentions and review requests. French: Accueil, À traiter.
Shapes
The shape libraries and the official logos you place on a view. French: Formes.
Pattern catalogue
The reusable patterns of your space. French: Catalogue de patterns.
Title block
The block in the corner of a view's sheet that identifies it, after ISO 7200. French: Cartouche.
Sheet number
The rank of a view in its diagram, such as 03/08. French: Folio.
Version
A numbered snapshot of a diagram, such as v14. Applying a proposal creates one; you can also save a named version. French: Version.
Checks and review
Check
A rule that runs without AI while you edit: reliability, performance, security, data, network and hygiene. French: Contrôle.
Finding
What a check or an Assistant review found, pinned to the elements it concerns. A finding stays open until you accept it, dismiss it with a reason, or it is resolved. French: Constat.
Assistant review
The Assistant reading your diagram and adding its findings to the list. Never called “AI review”. French: Analyse par l'assistant.
Review
The circuit that approves one version of a diagram. French: Revue.
Sign-off
The opinions of the people who approve a version. French: Validation.
Approver
The review role of a person whose sign-off counts. It is a role of the review, not of the workspace. French: Valideur.
Review pack
A PDF of a diagram for a review: cover, views, decisions, risks and findings. In a personal account the app calls it the sign-off pack. French: Dossier de revue (Dossier de validation in a personal account).
Stamps
The six statuses of a version: Draft, In review, Changes requested, Approved, Withdrawn, Superseded (Status stamps). French: Brouillon, En revue, Modifications demandées, Approuvé, Retiré, Remplacé.
Standards
One register for the technology radar, the patterns, the decisions and the exceptions of your space. French: Standards.
Technology radar
Where your space says which technologies to Adopt, Trial, Assess or Hold. French: Radar technologique (Adopter, Essayer, Évaluer, Suspendre).
Decision
A recorded architecture decision (MADR format), linked to a version. French: Décision.
Exception
An accepted deviation from a standard, with a due date. French: Exception.
Assistant and AI
Proposal
Changes the Assistant suggests, drawn as ghosts on the canvas. Nothing changes until you apply them. French: Proposition.
Apply, Discard, Undo
Apply makes a proposal real in one step and creates a version; Discard drops it; Undo takes back the last step. French: Appliquer, Ignorer, Annuler.
Suggestion
A next step the Assistant computes from your model. French: Suggestion.
Instant
Answers computed in the page, without AI: they cost no credits and send nothing (Instant answers). French: Instantané.
Credits
What the Assistant spends when it uses AI (Credits and credit packs). French: Crédits.
Classification
The sensitivity level of a diagram: Public, Internal, Confidential or Restricted. French: Classification (Public, Interne, Confidentiel, Restreint).
AI ceiling
The classification level above which the Assistant does not read a diagram (AI and your diagrams). French: Plafond IA.
What was sent
The Assistant's own list of what it sent for a request. French: Ce qui a été envoyé.
Sharing and organisations
Workspace
A space that holds diagrams and the people who can open them. French: Espace de travail.
Organisation
The account of a company on Team or Enterprise, with its members, workspaces and settings. French: Organisation.
Workspace roles
Viewer, Commenter, Contributor, Editor, Owner, from the least to the most rights (Roles and permissions). French: Lecteur, Commentateur, Contributeur, Éditeur, Propriétaire.
Share, Export, Present
Share gives people access to a diagram; Export writes a file; Present shows views full screen. French: Partager, Exporter, Présenter.
