Verification code

“That code is not right. Check the e-mail and try again.”

Why: the code was mistyped, or it comes from an older e-mail. A code expires after 10 minutes (“That code expired. Send a new one.”).

Fix it: open the latest e-mail from iyedy and type its 6 digits. If the code has expired, select Send a new code.

The code doesn't arrive

Why: the e-mail is in your spam folder, the address has a typo, or your mail server delays it.

Fix it: wait a minute and check the spam folder. Check the address shown on the code page. Then select Send a new code. If iyedy says “A code was sent a moment ago. Wait a minute before asking again.”, wait a minute first.

“Too many attempts. Send a new code.”

Why: a code accepts 5 tries. After the fifth wrong one it stops working.

Fix it: select Send a new code and type the new one.

“Too many codes were sent. Try again later.”

Why: iyedy limits how many codes one account can ask for in a short time.

Fix it: wait, then ask again. Meanwhile Skip for now lets you use iyedy; the welcome credits, sharing and invitations unlock once the address is verified.

Password

“That e-mail and password don’t match.”

Why: the password is wrong, the account was created with Google, or several failed tries locked the sign-in for a few minutes. The message is the same in each case, so that nobody can tell whether an address has an account.

Fix it: check the address and the password. If you signed up with Google, use Continue with Google. Otherwise select Forgot password?, or wait a few minutes and try again.

The password reset e-mail doesn't arrive

Why: iyedy sends the reset link only if an account uses that address, and says the same either way.

Fix it: check the spam folder, then the address you typed. If you usually sign in with Google, that account has no password: use Continue with Google.

“Use at least 15 characters.”

Why: iyedy asks for passwords of 15 characters or more.

Fix it: use a longer password, for example a sentence of four or five words, or a password manager.

Google

“The sign-in was cancelled.”

Why: the Google window was closed, or you selected Cancel on Google's page.

Fix it: select Continue with Google again, or continue with your e-mail address.

“To continue with Google, open this page in your browser.”

Why: you opened the link inside an app (a messaging app, a social network) whose built-in browser Google refuses.

Fix it: select Open in browser, or Copy link and paste it in your browser. You can also continue on the same page with your e-mail address.

“This account did not confirm its e-mail address, so it cannot sign in here.”

Why: Google has not confirmed the address of that account.

Fix it: confirm the address in your Google Account, or sign in another way.

“You already have an account”

Why: an iyedy account with the same e-mail address already exists. iyedy never links two sign-ins by itself.

Fix it: enter that account's password and select Link Google to my account. From then on, both ways sign you in to the same account.

Your company's sign-in

“Your organisation signs you in”

Why: your e-mail domain belongs to an organisation that signs its people in through its own identity provider.

Fix it: select the Continue with button that names your organisation and sign in as you do at work. If this is a personal account that should not belong to the organisation, use a personal e-mail address.

“Company sign-in required”

Why: you opened a workspace of an organisation that requires its single sign-on, and your current session did not come through it.

Fix it: select Sign in with followed by the organisation's name and sign in with your work account. When the organisation has set a contact, the page shows it.

“This identity provider cannot sign in an address outside its organisation.”

Why: the address you used is not in the organisation's verified domains.

Fix it: sign in with your work address. If you were invited with another address, sign in with that one through its own sign-in.

“Your account is deactivated by …”

Why: your organisation's directory deactivated your account.

Fix it: contact your organisation, using the contact shown on the page. Only the organisation can reactivate it.

Sessions and the browser

“Your session ended. Sign in again.”

Why: you were inactive longer than your session allows: 30 minutes, or 14 days with Keep me signed in; your organisation may set shorter limits.

Fix it: sign in again. Your saved work is still there; changes that were not saved yet stay in this browser. See Changes not saved.

“This sign-in took too long, so it starts again from the beginning.”

Why: the sign-in page stayed open too long before you finished.

Fix it: start again from app.iyedy.com.

The sign-in loops, or “allow … and the sign-in page, then sign in again”

Why: an ad blocker or strict privacy settings block the cookies the sign-in needs.

Fix it: allow app.iyedy.com and auth.iyedy.com in your blocker or browser settings, then sign in again from the app.

Passkeys

There is no Sign in with a passkey button

Why: the button shows only when your browser supports passkeys.

Fix it: update your browser, or sign in another way.

“That did not work”

Why: the browser or the device did not confirm the passkey, or the request was cancelled.

Fix it: try again and confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN when the browser asks. If it keeps failing, sign in with your password or Google.
