ChatGPT troubleshooting

What to do when ChatGPT cannot add or sign in to iyedy, keeps asking you to sign in, cannot see a diagram or cannot submit a proposal.

Adding and signing in

The sign-in page answers 400 or “invalid client”

iyedy's sign-in did not recognise the ChatGPT setup. In ChatGPT, check that iyedy uses OAuth with the client ID and client secret left empty: ChatGPT then introduces itself with its own public address, which iyedy knows. If iyedy was added before ChatGPT could connect, or with a client ID of your own, remove it in ChatGPT and add it again: see Connect iyedy to ChatGPT. Check also that the address under Connection is exactly https://app.iyedy.com/mcp: iyedy's sign-in refuses any other address. If it is not, remove iyedy in ChatGPT and add it again with that address.

ChatGPT says authorisation failed right away, before any iyedy page

ChatGPT asked for a permission iyedy does not give it, and iyedy's sign-in refused the request at once (“invalid_scope”). ChatGPT chooses the permissions it asks for, so this is for iyedy to fix: contact support with the time you tried. If you typed scopes of your own when you added iyedy, remove iyedy in ChatGPT and add it again with OAuth, without any scope.

“No iyedy account uses this sign-in yet.”

You signed in with an identity that has no iyedy account. Open app.iyedy.com, sign in with the same identity, finish creating your account, then connect again. The connection never creates an account for you.

You cannot find Add custom MCP server

That choice depends on ChatGPT, not on iyedy. It exists in ChatGPT on the web, not in the mobile apps, and only on Business, Enterprise, Edu and Pro. In a Business workspace, only admins and owners add a custom MCP server; in Enterprise and Edu, admins, owners and the members an admin allowed. Ask your ChatGPT workspace admin.

Connecting is refused for a minute, then works again

A known limit. iyedy holds back requests that arrive without a valid sign-in, counted by network address, and every ChatGPT user reaches iyedy from ChatGPT's own shared addresses. When many people connect at the same moment, ChatGPT can be held back. Wait a minute, then connect again.

Staying connected

ChatGPT asks you to sign in to iyedy again after about 30 minutes

ChatGPT did not get the right to stay connected, so it cannot renew its access in the background. ChatGPT reads iyedy's sign-in settings when the server is added: remove iyedy in ChatGPT, add it again, and check that the access page lists “Keep access while you are away (offline access)” before you select Allow.

ChatGPT asks you to sign in to iyedy again after a long pause

The connection was not used for more than 30 days, or support removed the access. Connect again from ChatGPT and approve the access on auth.iyedy.com.

Access in an organisation

“MCP clients are turned off for this organization.”

Access for MCP clients is off in this Team or Enterprise organisation; a request may also answer “MCP clients are not enabled for this organization.” An owner asks support@iyedy.com to turn it on: see Claude and MCP for your organisation. Your personal workspace keeps working.

“This organization does not allow ChatGPT as an MCP client.”

ChatGPT is not on the organisation's list of allowed clients. In a Team organisation without a list, only Claude and Claude Code are allowed. An owner asks support to add ChatGPT to the list.

“This organization requires its single sign-on.”

You signed in without your organisation's single sign-on. Disconnect iyedy in ChatGPT, connect again and, on the sign-in page, use your work e-mail address so that the sign-in goes through your organisation's single sign-on.

What ChatGPT sees

A diagram I expect is missing, or ChatGPT says it is not found

ChatGPT sees only what your iyedy account can read, and only up to the ceiling: Confidential on a personal workspace, Internal in an organisation. A diagram above it is never listed and answers “not found”, like a diagram that does not exist. Restricted diagrams are never shared. See Classification and AI ceiling.

ChatGPT reads my diagrams but never submits a proposal

On ChatGPT Pro, and in deep research, ChatGPT uses read and fetch tools only: it can read, search and analyse, not submit or withdraw a proposal. On Enterprise and Edu, a workspace admin may also have turned off some actions of the server. Otherwise, you need at least the contributor role in the diagram's workspace, and the proposal must be valid: ask ChatGPT to preview the change first.

A value shows as “redacted”

Values that look like secrets (passwords, keys, tokens) are replaced before they leave iyedy. That is on purpose. If ChatGPT sends the placeholder back unchanged in a proposal, the stored value is kept.

ChatGPT says it has to wait

Too many calls in a short time. Wait a minute, then ask again. iyedy limits requests per person (60 a minute on Free, 120 on paid plans): see Rate limits and errors.

Other assistants

Codex, VS Code, Zed, Cursor or Gemini CLI cannot sign in to iyedy

These assistants have their own guides: see Connect a coding assistant and Coding assistant troubleshooting. Another client that can send a header connects with a personal access token: see Connect another MCP client.

Still stuck? Contact support with the time of the call and the name of the diagram, never a token.
