Export your data or delete your account
Download a copy of your account and your diagrams, then, if you want to leave, delete your account and know what happens to your data.
On this page
Everything you put in iyedy can leave with you. Export first: the export is a file you keep. Deleting the account comes after, and cannot be undone.
Before you start
- Sign in at app.iyedy.com with the account you want to export or delete.
- In an organisation, the organisation's diagrams belong to it: they are not in your export, and your organisation may manage your account. Ask its owners first.
- If you pay for a plan, deleting the account ends it. To keep the account and stop paying, cancel the plan instead (Upgrade, change or cancel).
Export your data
- Open your account settings
Select your avatar in the top bar (Account), then Account settings….
- Export
Under Your data, select Export my data. iyedy prepares the file, then your browser saves it.
If the app says For your security, sign in again, then start over., select Sign in again, then select Export my data once more.
You are done when the app says “Your data is saved” with the file's name, and the zip file is in your downloads. It holds your account, your settings, your exchanges with the Assistant and your personal diagrams.
To keep a picture or a file of a single view as well, export it from the diagram: Export a view.
Delete your account
Your personal diagrams are erased at once: nobody, neither you nor us, can open them again in the service. Export them first if you want to keep them.
- Open the deletion dialog
In Account settings…, under Your data, select Delete my account…. The dialog Delete your account? opens.
- Read what changes
The dialog says, for your account, what the deletion does:
- Your plan. If you are still within the withdrawal period, it is cancelled and refunded; otherwise it ends today, without a refund of the current period. Your invoices stay available.
- What you have today. The number of your personal diagrams, of read-only links and of people you invited.
- What you wrote elsewhere. Your comments and opinions on other people's diagrams stay under your name, or show under the name Deleted account.
- Your address, erased from the spaces you are still in.
Changed your mind? Select Keep my account. Not exported yet? Select Export my data first.
- Confirm
Under To confirm, type the address you sign in with, type your e-mail address, then select Delete my account.
You are done when the app says “Your account is deleted.”
What happens next
- The key that encrypts your content is destroyed in the service at the latest 30 days after the deletion. Our encrypted backups that still hold it expire after a limited time; from then on your content cannot be read anywhere (Your data).
- The data the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, is kept for the time the law sets.
- The full list of what is erased, and when, is in the privacy policy.
If it doesn't work
“Name another owner of … before you delete your account.”
You are the last owner of an organisation. Make another member an owner first (Invite and manage members), then delete your account.
“Managed by …: ask … to delete your account.”
Your account is managed by an organisation, for example through its single sign-on. Only that organisation can delete it: write to the contact the message names.
“Your plan cannot be ended right now: try again later.”
The payment service did not answer. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it keeps happening, write to support@iyedy.com.
“Type the address you sign in with.”
The address you typed is not the one of this account. Type the e-mail address you sign in with, exactly.
Still stuck, or you cannot sign in any more? Write to support@iyedy.com from the address of the account: support helps you export or delete (Contact support).
