The title block
Every sheet in iyedy carries a title block in its corner, as engineering drawings do under ISO 7200: what the drawing is, which revision, who made it, its review status and its classification. A reader of a printed page or a PDF knows at once what they hold.

What it says
On the Claims Platform's containers sheet, the title block reads like this:
| Cell | Example | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Containers | the view's name |
| supplementary title | Claims Platform | the diagram's name |
| Doc ID | CLM-PLT-001 | typed once for the diagram, or set by the workspace or the organisation |
| Rev. | 4 | the diagram's revision in the library |
| Date | 29 Oct 2026 | the date of that revision |
| Author | A. Morgan | who made the revision, as an initial and a family name |
| Status | In review | the review: Draft, In review, Changes requested, Approved, Withdrawn or Superseded |
| Approved by | the approvers' names | the review, once approved |
| Classification | Internal | the diagram's classification |
| Sheet | 02/07 | the view's place among the visible views |
| Organisation, Client | Claims Example, a client's name | typed for the diagram, or set by the organisation |
Nobody types the revision, the date, the status or the approvers: iyedy writes them from the library and the review, so the block cannot claim an approval that did not happen.
Where you fill it in
Doc ID, Author and Client are fields of the Inspector's Title block section, with the note Printed in the title block when it is filled in. A value can be Set for this diagram, or come From the workspace or From the organisation; a value the organisation fixes says Set by your organisation.
Status and classification
- The status is the review's stamp, the same on the canvas, the title block, the PDF pack and the Library. See Status stamps.
- In an organisation, the classification prints from the level the organisation chose, for example Your organisation prints every level but Public. See Classification and AI ceiling.
Shown or hidden
The title block is a layer of each view: press Shift T, or switch Title block in the view's layers. The choice is saved with the view and followed by its exports. See Layers, annotations and grid.
On Free, the Made with iyedy mark of an export sits at the foot of the sheet, outside the title block, never inside a cell.
What this means for you
- Fill in the Doc ID once for the diagram: every view and every export carries it.
- Let the review set the status. Request a review or sign the diagram off yourself, and the stamp follows. See Review and sharing.
- Read a printed sheet with confidence. Title, revision, status and sheet number tell you whether the page in your hands is the one that was approved.
