Give your opinion as a guest

Someone who works on an architecture diagram in iyedy wants your opinion. You need no paid plan: a free account with the address the invitation was sent to is enough. Read the diagram, comment where something is unclear, then say whether you are in favour.

This e-mail

The invitation comes from iyedy and says who invites you, to what, and with which right, for example: Alex Morgan shared “Claims Platform” with you: you can comment on it until 14 Nov 2026. It also says how you will sign in, and when the link expires.

  • Expected it? Select Accept the invitation.
  • Not expected? Ignore it: nothing happens without you.
  • Rather in French? The e-mail ends with a link to the same invitation in the other language.

A sensitive diagram is never named in an e-mail: it says a Confidential diagram instead.

Your account

You need an iyedy account with the address the invitation was sent to. It is free, and reading and commenting cost nothing.

  1. Open the invitation

The invitation page says Sign in or create an account with that e-mail address to accept. Choose Sign in if you already have an account, Create an account otherwise.

  2. Sign in with that address

Use Google or your e-mail address, as the invitation says. If you create an account, iyedy sends you a 6-digit code to confirm your address. See Create your account and sign in.

  3. Accept

Back on the invitation page, select Accept and open iyedy. The diagram opens.

Give your opinion

When the owner asks for your opinion, you are told: Alex Morgan asked for your opinion on Claims Platform (version 3). The link opens that version on one page.

  1. Read the version

The page is titled, for example, Claims Platform · your opinion on v3. Read the decision, what changed and what the checks found. New to diagrams? Read a diagram in two minutes.

  2. Comment where something is unclear

Select an element, a relationship or the view, then Comment. Type @ to mention someone who can read the diagram.

  3. Say what you think

Choose In favour, In favour with a condition… (write the condition, then Give this opinion) or Ask for changes. Before you answer, iyedy tells you: Your name and your opinion will be in the sign-off pack of Claims Platform.

iyedy says Your opinion on version 3 is noted. Alex Morgan gets it in a few seconds.

After your opinion

  • Changed your mind? Open the page again and select Change my opinion.
  • Your opinion never decides alone. The owner signs off the version; your opinion is shown in its history and its sign-off pack.
  • The request has an end date. You can comment until the date the owner chose. The access the owner shared with you stays as it was.
  • Stop seeing it sooner. In Share, select Stop seeing this diagram.

In an organisation

If the invitation comes from an organisation (Team or Enterprise), you join it as a guest: you view or comment, only on what is shared with you, on diagrams classified up to Internal. You keep your own sign-in. The organisation decides whether a guest's verdict counts: the review panel shows External reviewer (advisory opinion) or External reviewer (counted opinion). When it counts, follow Review and sign off a version.

If it doesn't work

“This invitation is not valid”

It was used, revoked or has expired. Ask the person who invited you for a new one.

“This invitation is for … Sign in with that address.”

You are signed in with another address. Sign out, then sign in with the address the invitation was sent to.

“Give your verdict on a larger screen.”

On a phone, the full review page reads only. Open the link from the notification on a computer or a tablet, or use the one-page review.

More cases: Review troubleshooting.
