Workspaces
A workspace groups diagrams and the people who work on them, for example one per domain: Claims, Policies, Payments. Each person has a role in each workspace. Owners and workspace administrators create, rename and archive workspaces in the organisation's console.

Before you start
- You are an owner or a workspace administrator of the organisation. A workspace owner manages the people of their own workspace.
- Decide how to split. One workspace per domain or per team keeps roles simple; a diagram lives in one workspace.
Create a workspace for a team
- Open the workspaces
In the account menu, choose Organisation…, then Workspaces.
- Name it
Select New workspace, fill in Name of the workspace, for example Payments, then Create the workspace.
iyedy says The workspace Payments is created. It shows in the list with its diagrams, its members and your role. - Choose its default role
In the Default role column, choose the role every member of the organisation gets in this workspace, or None to open it only to the people you add. Guests and auditors never get it.
- Add its people
From the workspace's row, choose People of the workspace… and give each person their role. See Roles and permissions.
Rename, archive, restore
- Rename… changes the name everyone sees.
- Archive…: Its diagrams stay; the workspace becomes read and export only. An administrator can restore it.
- Show the archived workspaces lists them again; Restore brings one back.
- Title block of the workspace… sets what the title block of its diagrams prints when they have no value of their own. See The title block.
Your own diagrams stay outside
Your personal diagrams are outside Claims Architecture. My diagrams is never a workspace of the organisation: its rules, its audit log and its review do not apply there. To bring a diagram in, use Copy or move to… from its row in the Library; it arrives as a Draft. See Create an organisation.
If it doesn't work
“A workspace already has this name.”
Choose another name, or rename the other workspace first.
“… (archived) has no other owner: name one, the workspace can stay archived.”
Before a member leaves or loses their role, each workspace keeps an active owner, archived ones included. Name another owner of that workspace, then try again.
“Your role does not allow you to create a diagram in …”
Creating diagrams needs the Contributor role or more in that workspace. Ask a workspace owner.
