Read-only public links
A read-only link shows a diagram to anyone who has it, without an account, on share.iyedy.com. It works only for a diagram classified Public, and ends 90 days after you create it at the latest. The link is shown once: copy it when iyedy gives it to you.
On this page
Before you start
- You own the diagram. Creating the first link marks the diagram Public, which only its owner can do.
- Nothing in it is above Public. An element classified Internal or more keeps the whole diagram above Public: no link. See Classification and AI ceiling.
- Your address is verified.
- On Free, three links stay active at a time. In an organisation, its policy decides: links are open by default on Team and closed by default on Enterprise.
Create the link
- Open Share
Open the diagram and select Share in the top bar. Go to Read-only link: Anyone with the link sees this diagram, without an account, 90 days at most.
- Create it
Select Create a read-only link…. iyedy says what it does: anyone who has the link can see this diagram, without an account, until the date shown. If the diagram is not Public yet, it adds The diagram will be marked Public. Select Create the link.
- Copy it now
Copy this link now: it will not be shown again. Select Copy the link and paste it where you need it.
iyedy says Link copied. The link shows in the list with Active until and its date, then not opened yet until someone opens it.
What readers see
The link opens the diagram on share.iyedy.com: the first view, with the other views as links, read only. The page is in English, with a switch to French in its foot. Readers cannot edit or comment. Anyone can report a link that shows something it should not.
Follow and remove a link
Each link shows Active until its date, and opened on the last day someone opened it. Remove the link ends it: Link removed: it no longer opens. A removed link never comes back; create a new one if you need it again.
| State | What happened |
|---|---|
| Paused: Free keeps your 3 newest links active. | You have more than three links on Free: the older ones wait. |
| Withdrawn: this diagram is no longer Public. | The diagram's classification went above Public, it was trashed or restricted. |
| Withdrawn after a report. | Someone reported the link and it was taken down. |
| Expired on a date | The link reached its end date. |
If it doesn't work
“This diagram is … : no read-only link. Make it Public to create one.”
Only a Public diagram gets a link. If you own it and its content allows it, lower its classification to Public; creating the link can do it for you once you confirm. See Classification and AI ceiling.
“An element of this diagram is classified above Public: no link.”
One element keeps the diagram above Public. Lower that element's classification if its data allows it, or share the diagram with named people instead. See Share a diagram.
The link shows a page saying it is not available
The link was removed, expired or withdrawn, the diagram is no longer Public, or your organisation closed public links. Create a new link if the diagram may still be shown.
