Review and sign off a version
Someone in your organisation asked you to review a version of a diagram. Everything you need is on one page: the decision in plain words, what changed, what the checks found. It takes about three minutes. Then you give your verdict, and the author gets it a few seconds later.
On this page
Before you start
- The link you received. The notification says, for example, Alex Morgan asked you to review Claims Platform (version 14). It opens the version on one page.
- An iyedy account with the address the request was sent to. Reviewing and commenting are free. See Create your account and sign in.
- New to reading diagrams? Two minutes first: Read a diagram.
Give your verdict
- Open the review
Open the link. The page Review on one page is titled with the diagram and the version, for example Claims Platform · v14 to approve, with the due date if there is one. Full review page opens every detail.
- Read the decision and the changes
Start with The decision, in plain words, then Why and Impact, written by the author. What changed since v13 lists the parts added, changed and removed; Show the changes on the diagram marks them on the view.
- Read the checks
Checked by iyedy, without AI lists the points to know and how serious they are. While a serious point is open, approval asks for a condition or an accepted risk.
- Comment where needed
Select an element, a relationship or the view, then Comment. Say what must change, in the author's words if you can. See Comment on a view.
- Give your verdict
At the foot of the page, choose:
- Approve: the version is right as it is;
- Approve with a condition…: write the condition, for example Fraud scoring timeout set before go-live, then Approve with this condition;
- Ask for changes (Request changes in the review panel): the author updates the diagram and resubmits it.
Your verdict waits a few seconds before it leaves (Sending to Alex Morgan in 5 s), with Undo.
iyedy says, for example, You approved version 14. Alex Morgan gets it in a few seconds. Opened again, the page starts with your verdict and offers Change my verdict.
Variants and limits
- You are the author. You give no verdict on your own review: a colleague does (four eyes). You can comment.
- You are not an approver. Only the reviewers give a verdict. You can comment.
- The diagram moved on. If the author saved a new version after the request, you approve once they resubmit it; you can already request changes on the version you have.
- On a phone. Read and give your verdict from the one-page review; the full review page asks you to Give your verdict on a larger screen.
- As a guest of the organisation. Your verdict may be an advisory opinion. See Give your opinion as a guest.
If it doesn't work
“Nothing waits for your verdict on this diagram.”
The review was closed, withdrawn, or you already answered. Open the diagram's history to see what happened.
“v14 is no longer the current version: approve once … resubmits v15.”
The author changed the diagram after asking you. Wait for the new request, or request changes on the version you read.
Your review access has expired
A guest's review access ends at the due date, when they are removed from the review, or when the review closes. Ask the author to add you again.
